Minors Threatened with Imminent Execution
The two minors, Jalal Labad and Abdullah Al-Derazi are at risk of being executed by Saudi Arabia at any moment after enduring brutal torture and being denied adequate legal representation and fair trial conditions. Saudi Arabia's Specialized Criminal Court, which routinely handles political and security-related cases, sentenced them to death despite their status as minors at the time of their alleged crimes. Saudi Arabia's 2018 Juvenile Law prohibits the execution of minors, and the country is a signatory to the Convention on the Rights of the Child, which also bans this practice. Additionally, Saudi Arabia has ratified the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment.
