Denmark condemned the deterioration of human rights in Saudi Arabia during the discussions of item four of the 54th session of the Human Rights Council on September 26, 2023.
In a statement delivered by a member of the permanent delegation in Geneva, Ms. Astrid Ruge, Denmark highlighted Saudi Arabia's use of the death penalty.
According to the European Saudi Organization for Human Rights, Saudi Arabia has executed at least 109 people since the beginning of 2023, while at least 65 people, including 9 minors, are currently at risk of execution.
