Finland has affirmed that imposing the death penalty in Saudi Arabia for expressing opinions online goes against all international laws.
During the discussions of item four of the 54th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva on September 26, 2023, Finland's permanent representative, Ms Anu Konttinen, stated that Finland opposes the death penalty in all circumstances and cases.
