Under the title “Death Penalty in Saudi Arabia: Execution of Civil Society”, the European Saudi organisation for Human Rights holds an event in conjunction with World Day against the Death Penalty.
The event, to be held on October 10, 2018 at 18:00 on the House of Democracy and Human Rights in Berlin, comes amidst the deterioration of human rights in Saudi Arabia and the lack of respect for the right to life, at a time when the government uses the wealth of the people for external promotional campaigns to cover up the reality of what is happening in the country.
Panelists will talk about the current reality of the death penalty, with horrifying numbers as King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and his son Mohammad arrived in power. In addition, the participants will review legal analysis of the procedures followed and compare them with humanitarian laws, and will present prospective solutions.
The event, which will streamed via social media, will be attended by the president of al-Qst organization Yahya Asiri and the international human rights lawyer Oliver Winderidge and from Reprieve the Middle East and North Africa director Omar Suleiman, and by the Vice President of ESOHR Adel Al-Said.
